Your first time motoring in or out of a marinaon your own will test your knowledge of the “rules of the road.” Nothing like a high-traffic area to make you wish you had studied the right-of-way rules a little harder as you find yourself yelling “Sorry! I’m new” to the boat you cut off. Sailing is a sport of rules, lights and sounds that communicate to other sailors your intentions. It is important to you and your crew that you are familiar with not only the traffic rules, but the lights and sounds that tell you what is going on around you.
