Captain Bob Figular is an experienced mariner and the founder of Mariners Learning System, a leading provider of online courses for obtaining U.S. Coast Guard-approved captain's licenses. After selling a previous business and taking on a life-changing voyage around the world aboard his catamaran, Bob realized the importance of proper seamanship training. Inspired by his own challenges on the open sea, he pursued a 100-Ton Master’s license and later established Mariners Learning System in 2002. His goal was to create a more comprehensive and accessible education platform for aspiring captains, emphasizing real knowledge over rote memorization. Today, his innovative system offers flexible, online-based training for mariners across the country, helping thousands achieve their captain’s licenses safely and effectively.
